CANMUN V
JAMIE ZHANG
Deputy President
Greetings, I'm Jamie Zhang, an eighth grader attending the International School of Beijing. I am honored to serve as your Deputy President Chair of the Disarmament Committee (DA) at CANMUN this year. This is my second year in Model United Nations, with this being my eighth conference, and also my first time chairing.
We will be focusing on the topic "Disarmament of Militant Forces in Myanmar," which is a crucial problem that affects millions of people in Myanmar. Every day, innocent citizens have to endure violence and hardship because of the ongoing conflict between the government and the insurgencies.
Although speaking in front of dozens of delegates can be a struggle, it is a skill that can always benefit you and make you look more professional. So please be confident whenever you have an idea or something to share; no matter if you feel unsure about it or not, just say it!
After all, I hope all delegates can enjoy this conference and also learn from it. See you all in June!
