CANMUN V
Meet Your Chairs
Deputy President
Donghyun Ku
President
My name is Donghyun Ku, a sophomore student in Canadian International School of Beijing. I am happy to serve my roll as a President of the UNICEF in CANMUN V.Just about two years ago, I was at my first MUN conference. I felt nervous and scared trying to speak in front of many strangers. But as time passed, I started making some speeches, which helped me improve and gave me confidence to make more speeches. The point is, MUN can be hard and overwhelming. But don’t be scared, as there is always a chance to make a speech and improve. Finally, remember this. MUN is a place not only for debating and making amendments. It’s a place where you interact and socialize with people. So don’t be scared, step up, and make some speeches. I look forward to meet you all and have fun!

Deputy President
Eason Yang
My name is Eason Yang, and it is my great honor to serve as your Deputy President of the UNICEF committee at CANMUN this year. I am currently a high school student at the Canadian International School of Beijing, and I am delighted to be returning for my second year as a student officer on the CANMUN team. Model UN has not only significantly enhanced my public speaking abilities, but it has also broadened my perspective and fostered my sense of responsibility as a global citizen. When I first joined MUN as a timid and inexperienced eighth‑grader, I had no idea how much joy and sense of achievement this activity would bring me. At the beginning, I joined MUN simply to build up my confidence in public speaking, as I was extremely unconfident about it at that time. I quickly learned that being overly laid‑back was not something to be proud of, and that MUN is a welcoming community where like‑minded people can connect and enjoy meaningful discussions, instead of feeling excluded for holding different opinions on various issues.
